Summer has officially arrived and with it comes an onslaught of uniquely seasonal activities. From food to fun (and maybe a little fine art), figuring out what to do and see in the city can seem overwhelming.

Not to fear, because we’re here with our new series of Fabulous Friday posts to help you through the hubbub. Each Friday we’ll give you our pick for an up-coming weekend activity that you simply must see. Our first recommendation: Friday Night Flicks in Downtown Los Angeles’ Pershing Square.

In the heart of Downtown (#DTLA #MoveToDTLA), Pershing Square enthusiastically organizes a variety of community events year-round. From outdoor ice skating in the winter complete with a snow-laden winter holiday festival to concert and film series in the summer, Pershing prides itself on playing host at least four days a week in its open and elevated ayan-style amphitheatre… when it’s not being used as a major location for television shows, films, and private parties, that is.

Starting every Friday in July, and beginning at sunset, Friday Night Flicks encourages residents and visitors alike to pack a picnic and kick-back with a good movie (and good friends, of course). You can find the complete schedule of film screenings here.

See you at the movies!
